Embassy cocktail – What do colors taste like?

The hands perform the choreography of the juggler balancing the glass on the tray. On the horizontal straight line, the floor is a tightrope.

Glass placed on the table, the colors reminiscent of the sky with the sun on its ear, right after the clouds have dissipated and dissolved into rain. Rainbow…

The straw passes through the wall of ice to settle at the bottom of the glass. Then the tongue imitates a prospecting machinery. Gas exploration is a great metaphor for life.

The flavors – of the cocktail – come to us in layers. The burn of the alcohol – whiskey – that reaches the glass first. Then the citrus of orange and lemon and finally the sweetness of blueberries that reaches us vividly. This is the Embassy Cocktail, the signature cocktail of the Embassy Restaurant, open at 565 Mártires da Machava Avenue, which brings the tongue close to the earth.

The Embassy Cocktail, like the Zambico and the Macumba – which have already been distinguished at the Maputo Cocktail Week – is a reminiscent of what Suleiman Cassamo or Juan Rulfo did in Literature: a bet on local flavors that makes legitimate the claim to occupy a seat at the table where the global is discussed.
