Eduvina Cumaio Uamusse – “Persistence is the path to success”

“Giving up is not an expression that is usually found in the vocabulary”, says Eduvina Cumaio Uamusse, a Computer Systems Technician who was trained at Mozambique Airlines (LAM).

Professionalism and an easy smile marked her path, full of glory. But also sour moments, overcome with sweat and dedication. “I am an ambitious person. I face difficulties and adversities in a positive way and I don’t give up so easily”, assured the professional who joined LAM in 1992.

The memories of the contest she participated in in the early 1990s are still fresh. “At the time, I was looking for a job and saw that there was a vacancy for a secretary-typist. I said to myself: this was thought of for Eduvina. I applied, was approved and they sent me to LAM”, she says.

Because she always believed in her abilities, the young secretary did not give up and expanded her horizons. “I worked hard and progressed in my secretarial career,” she says, adding that she sought more. “As I intended to grow professionally and I always liked IT, I took the Computer Systems Management course”, she recalls.

After training, the General Administration invited her to share her knowledge at LAM. “As an IT graduate, it was a dream come true to join the LAM IT Systems Restructuring project team”, she recalls.

In her new task, she faced numerous challenges and one of them was creating and leading a cabinet, which over time became a Department. Always attentive and ready to learn, the professional followed the technological evolution at LAM.

For the IT professional, the implementation of a new system is contributing positively to improving the flow of information within the organization, and its subsequent analysis, in search of improving decision-making, is maximizing results.

Already retired, she carries the bird logo on her chest, and she follows from a distance the pulse of the company that trained her as a professional and as a person.

“I had several training courses, which contributed, in a certain way, to my growth as a Computer Systems Technician and as a person. Of course, not everything was a bed of roses, there were barriers to overcome, and several challenges”, she highlights.

Despite the obstacles, she remained strong, ensured that the system did not collapse and today she can proudly say that she leaves a legacy for the new generation. Her commitment to work and persistence are an example to be followed. “Persistence is the path to success,” she concludes.
