Taússe Daniel – The stylist

Through fabrics, vibrant colours, and dresses, Taússe Daniel has decided to reveal her inner self to the world. In the fashion industry since 2009, she has proven to be the designer, and the article is no coincidence. Her numerous participations in national (Mozambique Fashion Week) and international (United States of America, England, Italy, Portugal, Angola, South Africa) fashion shows attest to this.

Young, creative, and with “crafty” hands, Taússe – whose name means peacock in Swahili – was the only Mozambican and African to participate in the New York Fashion Week last February. She showcased her collection “Blooming” on the catwalk of the world’s most significant fashion event (NYFW).

The work essentially brought together 12 looks, elaborated almost in an artisanal way, and that exalted the landscapes of the city of Maputo. It was from her own print and fabric that Taússe gave “life” to the gala dresses of “Blooming” and that earned her much applause, including invitations to fashion shows in Washington DC, Chicago, and Orlando.

“Because the collection pays tribute to the city of acacias, the dresses were luminous and with designs that referred to flowers… that’s how our Maputo is. It was a magical moment for me,” she recalls.

The designer’s international participations did not stop at the catwalk of the world’s most significant fashion event. She also went to Brazil in May to participate in African Fashion Week. And there will be more in 2024: she will “parade” her talent in March at the Arab Fashion Week, Dubai. And she has already been to other catwalks in the world, from Italy to Angola, England and Portugal.

A sweet and soft-spoken woman, she attributes her success to faith, perseverance, and love for what she does. In fact, she stands by the idea that no dream is unattainable, as long as one fights for it.

Because Taússe means peacock, the bird is a creative characteristic of the designer’s brand, appearing in the colour palette and in the prints of her collections.
